New York. Nvidia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang has called the warning that Artificial Intelligence (AI) could end humanity within the next decade misleading and a fictional story. He stated that the world will not end in 2030 and the possibility of it happening is zero percent. He said that it is unnecessary and irresponsible to scare people. In recent weeks, intense debate has started regarding the safety of AI after researchers warned about its potential risks. Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Cox claimed on social media that AI developers themselves believe this technology could take everyone's lives by the end of the decade. Following this claim, top tech leaders like Anthropic's chief Dario Amodei and OpenAI's Sam Altman have demanded that the pace of AI development be slowed down. Huang claimed that such predictions are not based on science. He said that building technology responsibly is in Nvidia's interest. "Our company's success is directly linked to the safe use of products and services," Huang said, "If we cannot do that, our value will decrease." He indicated that companies demanding to slow down AI might be trying to escape the damage and legal liability their products can cause. He argued that they are seeking freedom from existing legal regulations, not new laws, and that is the real problem. Nvidia is considered a leader in producing the advanced computer chips required for building AI models. Due to policies between Washington and Beijing, the company's powerful chips face export bans to China. The US has tightened exports to slow down China's military and AI progress, while China is encouraging reliance on domestic technology. Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng held talks in New York to reach agreements on AI, customs duties, and critical minerals. Discussions were held on establishing a new information mechanism on AI safety between both sides. This discussion took place on the eve of the summit talks between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington. Last week, Huang also attended an event hosted by Britain's King Charles. During that time, King Charles warned tech leaders about the existential threat of AI. King Charles stated that the main challenge is not only to advance technology but also to dedicate it to the service of humanity, community, and the natural world. On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has not given much importance to concerns about AI risks. While Huang was addressing a tech conference in Los Angeles on September 14, Trump called and criticized the demand to stop AI development, calling such fears misleading.
