Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has made a sarcastic remark against leaders who express dissatisfaction in the media and social media against the party leadership. Addressing the inaugural session of the party's central committee meeting on Monday, Oli questioned the status of those who openly advocate for changing the chairman. Oli strongly opposed the tendency of publicly criticizing the leadership, stating that internal debate and discipline within the party have been breached. "Debate within the party can happen within the party and within committees. But who is the judge to go to the media and openly say the chairman should be removed, that he has become irrelevant?" Oli said in anger. "If you are in the party, discuss within the party, discuss in committees, express your opinion. No one has the right to go out and make a fool of themselves, weaken the party's prestige, and please the opposition." Hinting at a controversial status recently written by a party leader on social media, Oli warned against making indecent remarks against the leadership. "Statements are being made like 'what do you call someone who has no mind, no heart, no brain, no kidneys, just skin wrapped around bones?', and then commenting 'just hit it directly'," Oli said, "This method cannot be healthy for the party." He warned everyone to maintain the party's iron discipline, stating that such activities give opponents a playing field. Reminding that the general convention has already selected policy, statute, and leadership through democratic methods, Oli clarified that no one has the right to create anarchy within the party. He emphasized that UML must move forward united in terms of both ideology and organization. Discussing the external political situation, Oli claimed that UML is under attack from all sides because it is the guardian of democracy, the constitution, and nationality. He alleged that arrest warrants are being issued against leaders and they are being illegally detained by creating state terror, and said it is unfortunate to see indisciplined activities from within the party in such adverse circumstances. Mentioning that various misconceptions are being spread among the public against the party, he instructed the party ranks to dispel the misconceptions and reach out to the public.
