Cross-Border Digital Payments Between India and Nepal to Soon be a Reality

In a move that could significantly ease cross-border digital payments, Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) and National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) have signed an agreement to enable digital payments between the two neighboring countries.

The agreement signed during PM Prachanda’s India visit will allow authorized digital payment apps from both countries to operate seamlessly. This means Indian tourists will be able to directly pay in Nepal using their Indian wallets and Nepalis can do the same in India – saving the hassle of carrying cash.
