Weather Forecast: Monsoon and Western Winds Affecting Nepal, Possibility of Heavy Rainfall in Some Areas

Kathmandu. Currently, there is a partial influence of monsoon winds along with western winds across the country, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated. The low-pressure line of the monsoon is south of the average position. Also, a low-pressure system that developed in the North Andaman Sea and surrounding areas is currently in the East-Central Bay of Bengal and this system is seen to strengthen further in the coming days and move towards the west-northwest.

Currently, there is generally cloudy weather in Koshi Province and the mountainous and hilly regions of the country, while the weather in the remaining Terai regions is mostly clear to partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is occurring in some places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
