Humla Road Blocked by Landslide, Explosives Needed for Clearance

Humla. Clearing rocks along with the landslide near Charebhir in Sarkegad Rural Municipality-2 of the Karnali Corridor has become problematic. Due to landslides from two locations, large rocks have accumulated on about one hundred meters of the road.

The Hilsha-Simkot Road Project Chief, Bel Bahadur Nepali, informed that the landslide is still ongoing and the rocks on the road are too large to be removed by a regular 'excavator', necessitating blasting. He said, "Since large rocks have fallen, it is not possible to remove them with an excavator alone. Preparations are underway to blast them using a drill machine."
