CPN UML Central Committee Meeting Extended

Kathmandu. The ongoing central committee meeting of CPN UML is likely to be extended. Although the meeting was scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, leaders objected to the agenda, and a secretariat meeting has also been scheduled for Wednesday morning amidst the central committee meeting. It is said that the central committee meeting will now conclude only on Thursday. According to information provided by a CPN UML leader, the secretariat meeting on Wednesday morning will approve the agenda of the ongoing meeting. CPN UML had previously set 9 agendas, but the agenda has not been approved yet. After the agenda is approved by the secretariat, the central committee meeting will resume from 1 PM on Wednesday. Leaders had told Chairman Oli during the meeting that those who wish to speak at the meeting, which started on Monday, should be given time, and the time currently allocated is insufficient. General Secretary Shankar Pokharel had informed about this immediately after Monday's meeting by reaching Chairman Oli's residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur. On the first day of the meeting, Chairman Oli presented a 78-page report, from which the issues of leadership change and restructuring have been removed. The debate on restructuring has been intensifying in CPN UML since the last election. However, due to Chairman Oli's unwillingness, the issues of special convention and leadership restructuring have been overshadowed.
