Manaslu Peak Climbing Marks 70 Years

Gorkha. 70 years have been completed for climbing Manaslu Himal. In this period, 3,643 climbers have climbed this peak, the eighth in the world and seventh in Nepal.

For the first time on May 9, 1956, Japanese citizen Toshio Imanishi and Indian citizen Gyalzen Norgay Sherpa succeeded in touching 8,163 meters high Manaslu. The Department of Tourism has informed that the first Nepali climber Urken Tshering Sherpa made a successful ascent of Manaslu for the first time on April 22, 1973.
