HoR Election: 76 days to go: Legal amendment to ensure population-based inclusive representation

Kathmandu, Dec 19: The government has established legal provisions to determine percentages based on population for the proportional election system. To this end, the Council of Ministers has approved an ordinance and submitted it to the President.

In accordance with the arrangements for the House of Representatives constituencies, legal provisions will be enacted through the ordinance to establish percentages for Dalit, Indigenous, Ethnic, Khas Arya, Madhesi, Tharu, and Muslim groups.
