Weeks on, Nepal is still reeling from the aftermath of the August 2026 flash flood. Rising to 9 metres, the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli Rivers swept away people, houses, bridges, and hydropower infrastructure in minutes. What remained was a muddy slush and lingering trauma in the survivors.
