Two Arrested in Birgunj with Brown Sugar and Opium

Janakpurdham. Two people have been arrested in Birgunj with the narcotic drug brown sugar and opium. According to the Parsa District Police Office, based on a special tip that the sale and purchase of narcotics was taking place, a joint special police team from this office and the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch Office Birgunj Parsa, during a check last night, arrested them with 154 grams of brown sugar and 11 grams 59 milligrams of opium. The arrested are Reyaz Alam, 46, residing in Chhipaharmai Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 of Parsa District, and Santosh Prasad Patel, 37, residing in Jagannathpur Rural Municipality Ward No. 6 Madhopur of Parsa. According to the police, last night, while they were going on an Apache motorcycle with number BR05BL1680 on the Forty Fitte road section in Birgunj Metropolitan City Ward No. 15, they were suspected and during the check, brown sugar was found in their pant pockets while they were hiding it. Opium was found during the search of the house of the arrested Patel, the police said. Parsa Police Spokesperson and DSP Chakra Bahadur Malla said that both those arrested along with the motorcycle have been kept in custody for further investigation.
