Indra Jatra begins with ceremonial erection of Indradhwaja at Hanumandhoka

Indra Jatra, one of Kathmandu Valley’s major traditional festivals, has begun at Basantapur Durbar Square with the ceremonial erection of the Indradhwaja, a sacred wooden pole, in front of Hanumandhoka.
