Supreme Court Issues Show Cause Order on Former NEA Executive Director's Reinstatement Plea

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued a show cause order on the writ petition demanding the reinstatement of former Nepal Electricity Authority Executive Director Hitendra Dev Shakya to his former position. Justice Kumar Regmi's single bench has issued a show cause order in the name of the opposition and summoned both parties for a discussion on the interim order.

Shakya, who was appointed Executive Director of the Authority by the Council of Ministers' decision on Chaitra 11, 2081, was removed from his post by the government on Ashwin 5, 2082. He had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court against this. Hearing the writ, the Supreme Court had issued a mandamus on Mangsir 22, 2082, to overturn the government's decision and reinstate him.
