Department Halts Sales of Substandard Diabetes Medication

Kathmandu. The Department of Drug Management has ordered a halt to the sale and distribution of the diabetes (sugar) medicine Zilipid-One, found to be of substandard quality, and instructed its immediate recall from the market.

The department has taken this step in accordance with Section 14 of the Drug Act, 2035, as the solubility of the said medicine was found not to meet the prescribed standards during sample testing at the National Drug Laboratory.
