Rastriya Prajatantra Party Prepares for Provincial Conventions

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is preparing for provincial conventions after completing district conventions. RPP has set the date for the conventions of all seven provinces on October 7. The RPP, which decided to hold its central general convention in Kathmandu from December 12 to 14, has completed the conventions of 72 districts by the end of Bhadra. Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha said that special time has been given for the convention in the districts affected by the recent Bhote Koshi flood, including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. These districts will be able to complete their conventions by October 1. Similarly, Jumla and Dhankuta, which have yet to complete their conventions by the end of Bhadra, have also been given time until October 1 to complete their conventions. After the district conventions, RPP has started preparations for the provincial conventions and is moving forward with the preparation to complete the conventions of all seven provinces on the same day. The Central Election Committee has appointed central election representatives in all seven provinces for the provincial conventions. Accordingly, Election Committee member Bharat Pathak in Koshi Province, Election Committee member Rajaram Shrestha in Madhesh Province, Election Committee member Prof. Dr. Jayantnath Khanal in Bagmati Province, Election Committee member Amrit Pudasaini in Gandaki Province, Election Committee Chairman Toran Bahadur Gurung in Lumbini Province, Election Committee member Ramanand Nyaupane in Karnali Province, and Election Committee member secretary Shyamlal Shahi in Sudurpaschim Province have been appointed as central election representatives. According to RPP's constitution, seven representatives will participate in the provincial convention, including the district president from the districts within the respective province and one each from women and oppressed communities selected by the district working committee. Similarly, five representatives including one each from women and oppressed communities selected by the regional presidents and regional working committees from the provincial assembly constituencies within the province, and four representatives including one each from women and oppressed communities selected by the provincial assembly regional working committees and working committees will participate. RPP has stated that the constitution also provides for the selection of representatives by the chairpersons of the municipal and rural municipal working committees within the respective province. RPP has a provision to select central general convention representatives from among the active members. The party has stated that the general convention representatives will be selected on the basis of proportional inclusivity. RPP has set the deadline for applying for active membership and entering the form by October 1. RPP has stated that the process of entering the details of active membership and filling out the forms is underway across the country. After the provincial conventions, RPP will focus on preparations for the central general convention to be held in Mangsir.
