Minister Chaudhary Emphasizes Need for New Legal Framework to Control Animal Epidemics

Kathmandu. Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment, Gita Chaudhary, has stated that a new legal framework is indispensable for controlling epidemic diseases affecting livestock and poultry.

Participating in the discussion on the 'Infectious Animal Disease (Control) Bill, 2083' passed by the National Assembly and presented in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, she clarified that the existing Animal Health Act, 2055 is insufficient for the security of the country's livestock business and international exports.
