MP Ramesh Kumar Malla Draws Attention to Scrub Typhus Outbreak in Salyan's Darma

Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party MP Ramesh Kumar Malla has drawn the government's attention to the scrub typhus infection spreading in Darma, Salyan. Speaking during an emergency time in the House of Representatives, he stated that 7 people undergoing treatment in the hospital have died in the last one month due to scrub typhus infection in Darma Rural Municipality, Salyan. He said that although the rate of infection is increasing rapidly, there is an extreme shortage of testing kits in local health institutions.

The Ministry of Health has stated that it is distributing rapid testing kits and making necessary arrangements in risk-prone areas across the country for the timely identification and treatment of scrub typhus and other potential infectious diseases.
