Rs 10,000 fine slapped on Rajpur's mayor for not providing information

Kathmandu, 1 July (2022) - The National Information Commission imposed a fine amounting to Rs 10,000 on mayor of Rajpur Municipality in Rautahat district for not providing information to the information seeker.

The Commission made the decision on the appeal made by Ekamul Haq of Rajpur municipality-1 from the same district. Haq had sought a certified copy of the details of quarantined persons in the municipality during COVID-19 pandemic, expenses borne by the municipality and number of blankets procured among others.
