Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki Urges Against Trekking Due to Heavy Rainfall and Snowfall Forecast

Pokhara. The Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki has urged not to trek and not to send trekkers due to the possibility of heavy rainfall and snowfall in the Himalayan region. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of heavy rain and snowfall in various parts of the country from Friday to Sunday through a special seasonal bulletin.

There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy and in some places extremely heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in most places, especially in Gandaki, Lumbini, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces. Due to continuous rainfall along with snowfall, landslides, floods, debris flow are expected to increase. It has been warned that this could also affect trekking routes, roads, and air travel.
