Hollywood Producer Harvey Weinstein Sentenced to 15 Years for Sexual Assault

New York. Former Hollywood powerful film producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by a Manhattan court in New York for sexual offenses. He was sentenced on Wednesday after a retrial on charges of sexual assault against television production assistant Mirium Haley.

Weinstein's case had been in a long legal process since allegations of sexual misconduct against him surfaced in 2017. His initial conviction in 2020 was overturned by the New York Supreme Court in 2024. The court had determined that the inclusion of evidence related to uncharged incidents had affected the fairness of the trial.
