Biratnagar Metropolis Closes Schools for Two Days Due to Heavy Rainfall Warning

Biratnagar. Biratnagar Metropolitan City has decided to close all schools within the city for two days, keeping in mind the potential heavy rainfall and disaster risks. The Metropolitan Education Administration Division issued a notice on Thursday, directing the closure of all schools operating under the Metropolitan City on Asar 8 and 9.

According to the forecast from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall across Nepal from Asar 8 to 11. Considering the potential for increased water flow in local streams and rivers due to the rain, inundation of roads and settlements, obstruction of pathways, and other disaster-related risks, the decision to close schools has been made for the safety of students and the general public, the Division stated.
