Nikhil Upreti Aims to Compete with International Films Through 'Acharya'

Kathmandu. Actor and director Nikhil Upreti has stated that he is making efforts to reduce the influence of foreign films in Nepali cinema and provide Nepali audiences with international-level taste and presentation through his own films. He said that the film 'Acharya', in which he is directing and acting, has been made as part of this effort.

'Foreign films cannot be banned or prevented from being screened in Nepal', Upreti said, 'Now Nepali films must be made capable of competing with foreign films.' He stated that the influence of foreign films can be gradually reduced if Nepali films can provide international-level technology, presentation, and subject matter.
