Kaski District on High Alert Due to Heavy Rainfall Forecast

Pokhara. High alert has been adopted in Kaski district after the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology projected heavy to very heavy rainfall from October 9 to 11. The District Administration Office, Kaski has formulated standards for operating transportation, tourism, schools, and citizen activities to minimize potential loss of life and property from possible disasters.

Various sector-specific directives were given for disaster preparedness and response at a meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee held on Thursday morning. Chief District Officer Kuman Singh Gurung informed that a decision has been made to completely stop night buses and vehicles departing from Kaski district to other districts in case of bad weather.
