Devraj Neupane Elected President of Nepali Congress Siddharthanagar Municipal Committee

Butwal. In the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, Devraj Neupane has been elected as the President of the Siddharthanagar Municipality working committee of Rupandehi. In the election held for the leadership of the municipal working committee, Neupane was elected as the President by securing 159 votes. His competitor Sanjeev Sharma Regmi received 150 votes. A total of 318 votes were cast. Neupane and Regmi had filed their candidacies by forming separate panels for the leadership of the municipal working committee. Neupane was previously elected as the Vice-President of Congress Siddharthanagar. Recently, he has also been holding the responsibility of the acting president of the municipality. From Neupane's panel, Gaurav Shrestha was elected Vice-President, Nilu Shree Magar as Women Vice-President, and Dharma Beer Sharma and Dinesh Kewat as Joint Secretaries. Shrestha received 174 votes, Magar 162, Sharma 167, and Kewat 165. Similarly, from Regmi's panel, Vice-President candidate Anil KC received 132 votes, Laxmi Aryal 146 for Women Vice-President, Pankaj Udhas 140 for Secretary, and Ram Milan Yadav 139 for Joint Secretary. Among the open members, Madhav Sharma of Siddharthanagar-1 was victorious with 167 votes. His competitor Khagnath Gaire received 130 votes. Among women members, Sita Devi Tharu of Siddharthanagar-6 was victorious with 160 votes. Her competitor Urmila Kumari Sharma received 136 votes.
