Deposit growth outpaces credit, pushing lending rates lower

Kathmandu, Aug. 30: Deposits at banks and financial institutions (BFIs) grew significantly faster than private-sector credit in the last fiscal year 2025/26, indicating that liquidity accumulation in the banking system has outpaced the demand for loans.
