Roads Affected by Rain and Landslides, Traffic Restrictions Implemented

Kathmandu. Various main highways across the country have been affected due to continuous rain and potential floods and landslides. According to Nepal Police, some road sections have been completely obstructed and night-time traffic has been restricted on some.

Special caution has been taken on the BP Highway as the water level in the Sun Koshi River has crossed the alert level. Considering the potential flood risk in the Khurkot-Nepal Thok-Katunjebesi section of Kavre, all types of vehicles have been prohibited from operating from 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Police have stated that vehicles will be allowed to operate from 4:00 AM to 6:00 PM after assessing the situation.
