Number of daily deaths spike by 40 times in a month, 157,604 new cases added

While there were 4,384 active cases on April 14, the number rose to 107,336 in just 30 days

KATHMANDU, May 14: As Nepal is reeling under the severe crisis created by the second wave of coronavirus, as many as 1,603 people died due to the deadlier strain in the past one month. The number of total deaths on April 15 was 3,066 including five daily death-count. However, the number of daily coronaviruses sprang by 40 times in a month.A month ago, on April 15, when Nepal celebrated the New Year, five new deaths were reported, which has now soared to more than 200 a day. At least 203 people succumbed to the viral infection on May 14 alone.
