Man with Uterus and Fallopian Tubes Discovered During Infertility Treatment

A 26-year-old man in New Delhi, India, sought medical help two years after marriage due to infertility. During examination, doctors discovered he had a uterus and fallopian tubes inside his body. However, externally, his body appeared normal for a male, with all typical male physical characteristics. There were no signs of a uterus in his external appearance.

According to Dr. Sushil Kharbanda, a leading urologist at a private hospital in Delhi who treated him, tests conducted to determine the cause of infertility revealed the presence of a uterus and fallopian tubes within his body. Doctors state this is an extremely rare congenital condition called Persistent Müllerian Duct Syndrome (PMDS), with fewer than 300 cases recorded worldwide.
