Power Infrastructure Damaged by Heavy Rains, Floods, and Landslides

Kathmandu. Electricity transmission and distribution structures have been damaged in various parts of the country due to continuous rain, windstorms, floods, landslides, and lightning. Power supply has been disrupted in some places due to the damage, and the production of various hydropower projects has also been affected due to floods.

The section of the Kaligandaki Corridor 220 KV transmission line from Dana in Myagdi to Kushma in Parbat has been damaged at towers number 21 and 22. Problems have also arisen in the transmission line of the Kushma-New Butwal section. Approximately 200 megawatts of electricity production connected to the corridor has been affected by this.
