Nepal Secures 6 Medals at 11th Shitoryu Karate-Do International Championship

Kathmandu. Nepal has won 6 medals including 2 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze by performing excellently in the 11th Shitoryu Karate-Do International Championship held in Yokohama, Japan. Erika Gurung and Rakesh Manandhar won gold medals for Nepal. Erika won gold in the women's over 68 kg weight category. She has been performing impressively in international karate recently. Similarly, Rakesh Manandhar won the gold medal in the men's over 60 kg weight category. With Rakesh's gold, Nepal's gold medal count reached two. Nirupha Dong Tamang won the silver medal in the women's under 68 kg weight category. She was close to gold but was limited to silver after being defeated in the final. Min Bahadur Tamang won the bronze medal in the men's under 67 kg weight category. Nepal won a total of four medals, including gold, silver, and bronze, from individual competitions. Nepal also won two bronze medals in team competitions. The team of Erika Gurung, Nirupha Dong Tamang, Megha Limbu, Elisa Raskoti Magar, and Sanumaya Thing won the bronze medal in the women's team kumite.
