Kaligandaki River Flood Washes Away Majhi Settlement in Parbat

Parbat. A severe flood in the Kaligandaki River has washed away the Majhi settlement in Maldhunga, Kushma Municipality-1, Parbat. The settlement located on the banks of the Gandaki was flooded on Sunday.

The flood washed away half a dozen huts where locals lived, along with structures like a pig farm. Although the flood entered the settlement, there were no human casualties. Locals saved their lives by fleeing when the floodwaters entered in the morning. For the past three days, continuous rainfall had prompted the police to make announcements for residents to move to safer locations.
