Túins in Nuwakot Closed Due to Heavy Rainfall, Disrupting Daily Life

Nuwakot. Daily life has been disrupted as túins operating in the Trishuli River in Nuwakot have been closed due to continuous rainfall. Due to the increase in water flow in the river caused by the rain and technical difficulties in operating the túin pulleys, túins operating at four locations in Bidur Municipality have been closed.

With the closure of the túins, people are forced to travel via the suspension bridge in Belkotgadhi Municipality or the concrete bridge in Galchhi, Dhading, to cross the Trishuli River. After the floodwaters from the BhoteKoshi entered the Trishuli River and washed away all the bridges for crossing the river as well as the access roads, the Bagmati Provincial Government, in collaboration with Bidur Municipality, had installed and operated túins at four different locations.
