Taplejung Market Suffers Second Major Fire in Six Years, Residents Seek Government Support

Taplejung. In a span of six years, two major fires have occurred in Dobhan Bazaar, located in Meringden Rural Municipality-3, which is considered Taplejung's second-largest commercial center. While the residents of Dobhan, who lost everything in the first fire, were gradually bringing their businesses and daily lives back on track, the fire that broke out on Thursday has once again thrown them into distress.

Ten houses and 17 shops were gutted in the fire that occurred on Thursday. Families who lost their homes and businesses are currently taking shelter with relatives and neighbors. Some victims are busy clearing the debris of burnt houses and shops, cleaning habitable houses, and preparing for reconstruction.
