Government to Implement Slaughterhouse and Meat Inspection Act, 2055 from December 1

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment held discussions with the chiefs of local levels in the Kathmandu Valley, announcing the introduction of new regulations from December 1. The subject of discussion was the 'Slaughterhouse and Meat Inspection Act, 2055', enacted approximately 3 decades ago.

The government is currently making intensive preparations to implement this Act. Accordingly, Agriculture Minister Gita Chaudhary and Ministry Secretary Dr. Rajendra Mishra were present in discussions with the representatives of the Valley on Monday regarding potential problems during implementation.
