Study of Lichchavi-era Vihar begins

Nuwakot, 26 February (2023) - The Department of Archeology has begun the study of the famous Swayambhu Chaitya Vihar located in Bidur Municipality-2 of Nuwakot.

The Vihar is believed to have been built during the Lichchavi period about 1400 hundred years ago. The Department has started a study to reconstruct it in an archaeological form following excavation, study, and exploration.
