Sudurpashchim Province Faces Delays in Infrastructure Projects

Dhangadhi. Although the Sudurpashchim Province government has been investing in roads, bridges, drinking water, and irrigation for years, a large portion of the ongoing projects remains incomplete. According to the Province's Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, 193 multi-year projects are incomplete in roads and bridges alone. Additionally, 1,150 drinking water projects are yet to be completed.

The ministry concludes that despite the province government spending a significant amount on infrastructure development, the scattering of budget on small projects has added challenges to completing older projects. Delays by construction entrepreneurs, insufficient budget, geographical difficulties, and local disputes have also affected project progress, the ministry stated.
