Supreme Court Judges Express Concern Over External Interference and Former Chief Justice's Arrest

The judiciary ran relatively peacefully during the tenures of acting Chief Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Harikrishna Karki, Bishwambharprasad Shrestha, and Prakashman Singh Raut after Cholendra Shumsher Rana. However, with the commencement of Chief Justice Sharma's tenure, mediators have become active again, and judges have expressed anger, stating that they have become dominant.

During a meeting to form an opinion on the arrest of former Chief Justice Rana, a judge questioned the current Chief Justice, asking, 'Why have mediators become active and dominant in the judiciary during your tenure, when it ran smoothly during the previous ones?' Another judge stated that it was not a coincidence that former Chief Justice Rana, who remained silent during the tenures of previous Chief Justices, became suddenly active during Dr. Sharma's tenure, and they demanded an explanation. At this time, the dismissal of the writ against Rana, paving the way for him to receive his pension, has also led some to suspect a 'setting'.
