Brazil Unemployment Rate Hits Lowest Since 2012

Kathmandu. Government data shows that Brazil's unemployment rate in the latest three months to August was at a record low. This has boosted President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's re-election campaign ahead of this week's vote.

"Brazil, considered Latin America's largest economy, had an unemployment rate of 5.3 percent during the period, which is the lowest in the latest three months since it began in 2012," said the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
