Russian Military Plane Crashes in Amur Region, Six Crew Members Dead

Kathmandu. Six crew members died and one was injured when a Russian military plane crashed in Russia's far eastern Amur region on Tuesday, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Unverified videos posted on social media show fire and smoke billowing from what appears to be the crash site, with loud noises heard in the background. "A TU-95 aircraft crashed during a training flight in the Amur region on Tuesday. The plane crashed far from human settlements," the Defense Ministry said, according to Russian news agency TASS. "According to preliminary data, six crew members died and one was injured and taken for treatment," the ministry added. It was stated that the plane did not carry any ammunition. The TU-95 is a large, nuclear-capable bomber designed during the Soviet era. Russia often uses this aircraft in regular military exercises.
