US Schools Face Declining Basic Literacy and Math Skills; Experts Suggest 30 Reforms

Amid concerns about declining basic reading and mathematical skills among children in American schools, experts have suggested 30 measures for educational reform. Among these measures, teaching in small groups of 3-4 students, teaching based on scientific principles, and implementing a quality curriculum have been put forward as effective solutions.

A report indicates that in the last decade, the number of students unable to read properly or solve simple math problems has increased in 83 percent of schools in America. This raises serious questions about the state of basic learning in schools.
