Karnali prepares for festive season, says no food shortage

Surkhet, Sept 30: Karnali Province is expected to have adequate food supplies during the upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals, with the Food Management and Trading Company Limited expanding distribution to remote areas.

The company has transported food stocks to the upper mountain districts of Karnali province, including Humla, Jumla. According to Karnali Provincial Office, food is being distributed through 81 distribution centres across the province. The centres include 13 in Humla, 12 each in Mugu, Dolpa and Jajarkot, seven in Jumla, 14 in Kalikot, four in Dailekh, five in Rukum West and two in Surkhet.
