Parliament seeks government steps to control lumpy skin cattle disease

According to estimates, around 764,000 cattle in Nepal have been infected and 26,900 have died from the viral disease, resulting in losses worth Rs37 billion.

Amid insufficient efforts from the government in controlling the lumpy skin cattle disease that has affected farmers across the country, the House Speaker on Friday issued a directive to the government to inform Parliament about the steps taken to control the outbreak.
