Capital Market Problems Require Privatization of NEPSE with Strategic Partner, Says Federation Official

Kathmandu. Nepal Chamber of Commerce Capital Market Committee Chairman Priyaraaj Regmi has stated that the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) should be privatized by bringing in a strategic partner to solve the problems seen in the capital market and effectively implement policy reforms.

Speaking at a discussion on the capital market in the Finance Committee on Wednesday, he mentioned that bringing a strategic partner to NEPSE is like a prerequisite for capital market reform. He stated that it would be difficult to implement the programs announced by the government and the policy reforms initiated by the Nepal Securities Board without a strategic partner.
