Resunga Airport Road Section Fully Blocked Due to Road Collapse in Gulmi

Gulmi. The Resunga Airport road section has been completely blocked after the road collapsed in Simichaur of Resunga Municipality-10 in Gulmi. The road collapse has also affected the road going from Tamghas-Simichaur-Rangbas-Khajyang to Ridi, along with the Resunga Airport. The road section has been blocked after about 80 meters of paved road collapsed in Simichaur, and traffic has not been able to operate on that road section. Motorcycles are also barely managing to travel by taking risks. It is preliminarily estimated that the road collapse has caused a loss of more than one crore rupees. Two local houses have also come under high risk due to the landslide. Local Til Bahadur Kunwar said that he barely saved his life from the landslide, and there is still a fear that the house might be washed away by the rain. The road, constructed by the Intensive Urban Development Office, Palpa, under the 'Integrated Road Upgrading Program', was completed at the end of last Ashadh. The road collapsed due to continuous rain less than a year after its completion. The engineer of the Intensive Urban Development Office, Ghanshyam Yadav, said that preparations are underway to open a temporary route within a day or two to facilitate immediate traffic operation on that road. He said that it will take some time to completely reconstruct the collapsed paved road. Students coming to Tamghas, the district headquarters, from that area for study, as well as passengers going to Resunga Airport and the general public, have been directly affected by the road collapse.
