Landslide Risk in Beni Bazaar as Slope Cracks

Myagdi. A slope located above the headquarters of Myagdi, Beni Bazaar, has cracked and is experiencing landslides. The slope behind New Road in Beni Bazaar, situated at the confluence of the Kaligandaki and Myagdi rivers, has cracked and is sliding. Residents of New Road, Santosh Dhungana, stated that the cracks in the landslide have increased in size over the last three days, and a landslide occurred on Wednesday morning as well.

"The ground, saturated by continuous heavy rainfall from Ashwin 8 to 11, has been sinking with cracks over the last three days," he said, "Although the landslide that occurred this morning got stuck in the bamboo thicket on the slope, the risk has not been averted."
