Energy Minister Directs Acceleration of Budget Implementation Amidst Low Financial Progress

Kathmandu. Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has directed subordinate bodies to accelerate budget and program implementation, stating that the ministry's financial progress has been relatively low even after two and a half months since the start of the current fiscal year.

In a review meeting held at the ministry today, Minister Shrestha said that the traditional practice of spending the budget only in the last part of the fiscal year should be ended and programs should be implemented in a planned manner from the beginning. He directed to move forward by creating a clear work schedule for budget implementation and to bring projects into implementation by calling for tenders and signing agreements within the stipulated time.
