Kaligandaki Corridor Road Reopens After Rain Disruption

Gulmi. The Kaligandaki Corridor, obstructed due to rain, has come into operation. The road was obstructed after landslides occurred at various places along the Harmichaur–Arbeni–Purtighat section of the Kaligandaki Corridor. The road came into operation from Wednesday evening after the debris accumulated on the road was removed using dozers and excavators in coordination with Kaligandaki Rural Municipality and the Road Division Office, Palpa, informed District Police Office Information Officer Birendra Beer Bishwakarma. According to Bed Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, landslides with mud and large stones occurred at various places on the road from Rudrabeni of Satyawati Rural Municipality to the Harmichaur–Arbeni–Purtighat area of Kaligandaki. He stated that all branch roads obstructed within the municipality have also come into operation after the removal of the landslides. Passengers traveling from that area to Tansen, Baglung, Palpa, Butwal, and Pokhara faced problems due to the road obstruction. After the road came into operation, public and other vehicles that were stopped have started moving towards their destinations.
