Kathmandu. It has been revealed that the Federal Parliament session has been recommended for postponement after Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal and Secretary General of the Federal Parliament Secretariat Padam Prasad Pandey decided to go on a foreign trip. According to sources from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Council of Ministers meeting held on Tuesday did not decide to postpone the Federal Parliament session. While briefing the decisions of the Council of Ministers after the meeting, government spokesperson, Minister of Education and Sports Sasmita Pokharel, did not mention this matter. However, immediately after the Council of Ministers meeting, Speaker Aryal called Prime Minister Balen Shah and Secretary General Pandey called Chief Secretary Govind Bahadur Karki repeatedly, urging them to postpone the session. 'The Council of Ministers had not previously decided to postpone the session. Later, after repeated phone calls from the Speaker and the Secretary General, it was added,' a source from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers told Ratopati. 'As they had a foreign trip scheduled, they urged to end the session by any means, after which the Prime Minister agreed.' However, the ministers were unaware that the session had been recommended for postponement. They were preparing to register bills in the parliament. Then, upon receiving information from the Prime Minister's Office that the session had been recommended for postponement, one minister said he was startled. 'Two bills from my ministry were being prepared for registration. But, after receiving information from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers that the session had been recommended for postponement, I was startled,' the minister told Ratopati. The minister also stated that the postponement of the session was not discussed in Tuesday's meeting. Speaker Aryal, Secretary General Pandey, and their team are scheduled to travel to Tanzania to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting. Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Joint Secretary Ekram Giri, informed Ratopati on Sunday that Speaker Aryal, Secretary General Pandey, and their team are scheduled to go on a foreign trip.
