Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection Leadership Vacant

Kathmandu. The main body for market monitoring, the 'Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection', has become leaderless. Although the Director General of the department was transferred as soon as a new minister came to the Ministry of Industry, the department has become leaderless as no new leadership has been appointed so far.

Deepak Kumar Shah was appointed as the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply on August 24. The very next day after the newly appointed minister Shah took office, on August 25, the Council of Ministers decided to transfer the Director General (Joint Secretary) of the Commerce Department, Motiram Sapkota, to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
