State-run food company to skip goat sales this Dashain

The company says repeated losses and transport disruptions have made goat trading too risky; it is selling sugar Rs16 a kg below market prices and raising the purchase limit to 25 kg per customer.
Nepal’s state-run Food Management and Trading Company will not sell goats and chyangra, or Himalayan goats, during Dashain this year, abandoning a practice it has followed in previous years to help keep festival-season prices in check.
