UN Reports 10 Civilian Deaths in Afghan Airstrikes

Kathmandu. The United Nations has said that at least 10 civilians were killed in airstrikes in Afghanistan on Thursday. Most of those killed were children. Pakistan has claimed that the airstrikes targeted militants.
There was war between Afghanistan and Pakistan at the beginning of this year, but tensions have appeared to ease in recent months. Sporadic attacks have been occurring since a March ceasefire as no permanent solution has been found to security issues. According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), the latest attacks occurred in Helmand province and Kunar province, bordering Pakistan.
